Passionate about the power of interior design and how your environment affects our health, happiness and well being and has particular talent for making a room look like a million dollars without spending it. Ellen is the President of Ellen Farber Strategic Design, an interior design and consulting firm specializing in Aging in Place, Senior Relocations, Home Staging and Interior Design Consulting.
Ellen started her career as a Certified Public Accountant, and went on to hold various financial positions with public companies. She returned to school to follow her passion for interior design and obtained a degree in Interior Design. Ellen has obtained certifications as a CAPS Aging in Place Specialist, CLIPP Certified Living in Place Professional, SHSS Senior Home Safety Specialist, a LEED Green Associate in sustainable design, and a certification as a Feng Shui Practitioner. She is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and The International Feng Shui Guild (IFSG). She also spends time volunteering with Habitat for Humanity & Rebuilding Together, to ensure that interiors that support a quality life are available to all.
Ellen combines the principles of universal design, feng shui and sustainability to create interiors that are functional, well balanced and cost effective. She has particular experience in working with seniors on helping them age in place or transition to a new home, and enjoys working with this important population. She ensures that new spaces are safe, and that possessions and treasures from the past are honored in their new home, while working with the senior and family to ensure a smooth transition. Ellen is committed to ensuring that each project is not only well designed, but they are completed on time and within budget.
